Metinvest implements new programs for youth employment

The group is implementing an end-to-end training system from vocational schools to its own university

Metinvest Group is building a system for professional adaptation of young personnel, covering technical education and subsequent employment. The company recruits students through both specialized institutions and international internship programs. This was reported by GMK Center, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The company’s strategy involves creating a holistic career path for specialists, starting from education to landing their first job. This was announced by Tetyana Petruk, Director of Sustainable Development and Personnel Interaction, during an industry youth forum.

Through partnerships with over 40 vocational education institutions, students undergo on-the-job training directly at industrial sites. In 2025, the company officially hired nearly 500 vocational graduates, accounting for 13% of all newly hired employees.

Education and practical case studies

The primary tool for personnel training is the corporate university, Metinvest Polytechnic. Currently, more than 1,400 students are enrolled, and the educational programs are fully accredited by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

The learning process at the university is integrated with solving real business tasks, allowing graduates to adapt to the requirements of the economy. “We created the university based on the European model, where graduates can work in the real sector of the economy immediately after finishing their studies,” Tetyana Petruk noted.

International programs and adaptation

To engage youth studying abroad, the group launched the Steel Force program. Last year, it covered students in the UK and Poland, and this year, the project has expanded to Italy, Romania, and Bulgaria. Out of 300 applicants, 53 participants were selected for mentorship and internships.

The company has also accelerated internal personnel retraining programs, reducing their duration to 3–5 months. New employees are supported by a mentorship system, a youth movement, and financial assistance during their first year of employment at the company’s facilities.
