Sappers neutralised 304 explosive remnants during the last month of summer
In August, specialist units cleared 999 hectares of liberated territory of explosive remnants of war. Experts also inspected dozens of kilometres of transport routes and agricultural land. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, based on data from Main Directorate of Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety.
During August, specialists surveyed and secured 106.8 hectares of agricultural land designated for farming operations. In addition, sappers inspected 27.15 kilometres of motor roads and 40.7 kilometres of railway lines.
In total, during the final month of summer, demining teams located and eliminated 304 hazardous munitions. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian specialists have neutralised 483,002 explosive remnants.
Deployment of units and documentation of damages
Specialised units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service are deployed to clear the liberated territories. These operations are coordinated by the relevant directorate within the defence ministry.
All state expenses incurred for demining operations are recorded in the international Register of Damage. The compiled documentary evidence will serve to pursue full financial compensation from the aggressor state through legal channels.
