Representatives of Donald Trump's team seek ways to end the war
Representatives of US President-elect Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will visit Russia and Ukraine in the coming days. The main goal of the trip is to find realistic options to bring the war to an end. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed preparations for the visit of the American diplomats. According to him, the US representatives are scheduled to arrive in Kyiv on September 8, 2026, following a visit to Moscow, where they will conduct a series of meetings.
To ensure the safety of the negotiators, Ukraine guarantees the cessation of air strikes during their movement and the negotiations. The Head of State emphasized that a similar step is expected from the Russian side, which must provide “mirror” silence in the airspace.
Security conditions for the visit
“We will ensure the normal functioning of the Russian airspace so that the negotiators can arrive safely. We are looking out for them, not for Russia,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated during a meeting with his diplomatic team.
The Ukrainian side is expecting a constructive dialogue and specific proposals from the American officials. Kyiv is ready to consider options that will help conclude the armed conflict, taking into account the positions voiced in both Moscow and Washington.
