Ukraine has used the FP-7 ballistic missile in combat for the first time. Here is what is known

Ukraine has used the new FP-7 tactical ballistic missile in combat for the first time. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Thursday, October 1, as reported by Zaxid.net and the PromPolitInform portal.

“Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile. FP-7. First combat use. Thank you for the result. Next comes production. Glory to Ukraine!” the statement read.

News of the FP-7’s development first emerged in September during a press conference at the MSPO international exhibition in Poland. The Ukrainian company Fire Point developed the missile. The FP-7 is designed to engage targets at medium ranges. It is launched from a ground-based platform and has a stated operational range of up to 250 km.

According to the manufacturer, the FP-7 is equipped with a warhead weighing approximately 200 kg. The missile reaches a maximum altitude of 60 km and speeds of up to 1,500 meters per second. Its stated circular error probable (CEP) is around 14 meters, and its maximum flight time is up to 250 seconds. As a reminder, on August 8, Zelenskyy stated that not all nations and arms manufacturers are interested in the development of Ukrainian ballistic and anti-ballistic technologies. He cited competition in the international arms market as one of the reasons.
