2026 has become another difficult year for Ukrainian metallurgy. War, enemy shelling, energy supply disruptions, the cost of energy resources and the logistics situation have become constant factors of pressure. Despite these realities, Metinvest Group proves that responsible business is measured by the ability to withstand the blow and support its team. Thanks to the dedication of tens of thousands of specialists, the company continues production, restores infrastructure, repairs facilities, supports local communities and meets the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Realizing the importance of each employee for the company’s activities, the management of Metinvest Group has made a strategic decision: from July 1, 2026, the salaries of employees of Ukrainian enterprises will increase by 10%. The company informs about this, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
Why is it important now
The decision to revise salaries was made in conditions when in 2026, large-scale foreign economic restrictions were added to the daily challenges of wartime: the introduction of the Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) in the European Union and the strengthening of import quotas for steel.
This creates unprecedented pressure on the Ukrainian metallurgy in general and Metinvest in particular, forcing it to reduce its presence in Europe – the main strategic sales market – and look for new export markets.
That is why this salary increase is not a usual step, but a conscious decision to support the team at a time of greatest stress.
“Hard times of testing require steel solutions. Even in the current difficult conditions, we are obliged to find resources to maintain the enthusiasm and confidence of every employee of Metinvest. People are our foundation and the highest value of the company. Not only the work of enterprises, military production or modernization, but also the entire economy of Ukraine is supported by their work. That is why, even in a period of such external pressure, we do not abandon our social obligations. The main task of management today is to preserve teams, jobs, ensure the stability of payments and protect the Metinvest family,” said Yuriy Ryzhenkov, CEO of Metinvest Group.
Details and mechanics of the payment review
The increase in wages will take place according to the following mechanism:
Manufacturing sector: from July 1, the salaries of employees of the Group’s production, repair and service enterprises in Ukraine will increase by 10% (the accrual will take place already during the payment of the July salary).
Administrative staff: according to the results of the annual assessment, the salaries of employees of the Group’s production, repair and service enterprises in Ukraine will increase by an average of 10%.
Management: a salary review for the directors of the Group’s enterprises is not foreseen. This is a conscious and voluntary decision of top management in favor of supporting the main labor collectives.
Despite the war and global market challenges, Metinvest remains faithful to the principles of social responsibility. The company aims to continue to maintain a high level of social protection for employees.
