Occupation forces are trying to hold positions on the western bank of the Oskil river
Ukrainian defense forces are pushing the enemy back north of Kupiansk, gradually reducing the territory controlled by the Russians. According to the spokesman for the Joint Forces Grouping Viktor Tregubov, the situation in this sector of the frontline remains tense. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Сергій Козачук), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The Joint Forces Grouping reports successful operations by Ukrainian defenders in the Kupiansk sector. According to a statement by the JFG spokesman Viktor Tregubov, the only significant bridgehead of the Russian forces located north of the city is gradually shrinking under the pressure of the AFU.
The military command aims to minimize the enemy presence in the area between the settlements of Dvorichna and Kupiansk. In parallel, Ukrainian units are working to push out the adversary, who is resisting by utilizing established defensive lines.
Battles on the western bank of the Oskil river
Despite the successes of the AFU, the operational situation remains complex due to intense actions by Russian forces on the western bank of the Oskil river. The enemy is trying to gain a foothold in the area of Kivsharivka and previously captured the village of Pishchane, creating additional challenges for the Ukrainian side.
“It is truly hot there, it is truly problematic. That is a characteristic of a bridgehead that is located across the river after all,” explained Viktor Tregubov.
Activity of the Khartia unit
Previously, fighters from the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Khartia” demonstrated their effectiveness in this sector of the front. During a conducted assault operation, the military breached the enemy defense and occupied new tactical positions.
The successful actions of the Ukrainian defenders resulted in the liberation of four square kilometers of territory. The clearing of the area was conducted in the zone between the villages of Dvorichna and Zapadne, becoming another stage of active counteraction against the enemy in Kharkiv region.
