National Bank of Ukraine Launches New Webpage for the FX Global Code

The regulator’s website section now hosts practical recommendations and operational principles for the FX market

The National Bank of Ukraine has unveiled a new section on its website dedicated to FX Global Code standards. The initiative aims to integrate international practices for FX market operations among Ukrainian financial institutions. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the National Bank of Ukraine.

The update is hosted in the sub-section concerning financial and currency markets. The new page provides key information about the Code, its fundamental principles, and methods for practical implementation within banking institutions.

The resource structure includes a detailed description of six categories of principles, such as: ethical standards, corporate governance, execution procedures, information exchange rules, risk management, and settlement practices. In addition to the theoretical base, users can review the official statement from the National Bank of Ukraine regarding its commitments under the Code and a list of banks that have already joined this initiative.

The regulator notes that the FX Global Code acts as a set of guiding principles to ensure transparency and efficiency in global markets, complementing local legislation. Adherence to these principles is voluntary and relies on internal controls by the participants themselves. To date, more than 1,500 institutions have signed commitment statements, including 56 central banks worldwide, the European Central Bank, and the Bank for International Settlements.

The National Bank of Ukraine joined the Code on May 22, 2026, following discussions with the Money and FX Market Contact Group. According to the National Bank of Ukraine representatives, implementing these standards will allow domestic banks to enhance trust among counterparties and clients, improve internal processes, and strengthen their professional reputation.
