The American businessman has once again called on the Ukrainian president to resign
American billionaire Elon Musk has publicly called on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to step down via social media. In his view, the continuation of hostilities is supposedly linked to the Ukrainian leadership's reluctance to hold elections. This was reported by Glavcom, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
American billionaire Elon Musk has once again spoken out about the Ukrainian leadership in the online space. The entrepreneur supported a post by an unnamed platform user claiming a supposed lack of interest on the part of the Ukrainian leader in ending the conflict.
Reaction to the social media post
In his reply, the businessman agreed with the claim that holding elections allegedly threatens the current authorities with the loss of their positions. «This is how this slaughter continues. Time for Zelenskyy to go,» Musk wrote on social media.
At the same time, the American billionaire ignored russia’s violations of energy agreements and the aggressor’s refusal to negotiate. Such statements come against the backdrop of discussions surrounding peace initiatives by the administration of US President Donald Trump.
Legal status of elections
The issue of holding elections in Ukraine remains subject to legislative restrictions due to martial law. Current regulations prohibit organizing the electoral process amid full-scale armed aggression.
The head of state previously stated his fundamental readiness for elections provided security guarantees are in place. Specifically, he mentioned the possibility of a temporary truce to organize the citizens’ expression of will.
Position on legitimacy
The leadership of russia systematically uses the topic of elections for information attacks against the Ukrainian authorities. Kyiv emphasizes the need to uphold the law and create safe conditions for voting.
