NATO model unchanged since the Cold War: Andrii Kovalenko outlines threats to Western unity

Nordic countries are capable of becoming a key security stronghold in Europe

NATO architecture still relies on Cold War principles where a strong US supports Europe. This was stated by Lieutenant of the Ukrainian Defense Forces Andrii Kovalenko. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Ірина Гамерська), according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The modern global security architecture covers the European space, Japan, South Korea, and the Indo-Pacific region. Among European states, Germany and France are currently economically powerful, but the Nordic countries could become the most stable foundation.

British intelligence and Russian propaganda

The British intelligence network outperforms the American one in many aspects, and Russia acts as London’s strategic adversary. That is why Kremlin propaganda attempts to undermine the unity of Western allies through various manipulations.

«It is beneficial for Russian propaganda to show as if Britain controls Ukraine and thereby explain, justify its actions against Ukraine, to throw into the US infospace that Britain is against US interests and there is no need to help Europe because Britain is there as a "puppeteer"», — said Kovalenko.

Impact of political changes on security

Any weakening of the United States poses a serious threat to stability both in Ukraine and on the European continent, provoking large-scale security crises. The situation is further complicated against the backdrop of potential political shifts in leading EU countries.

«A weak US is not beneficial to us and Europe. Because then we will see a difficult situation in Europe, including with security, especially after the Alternative for Germany may win the elections in Germany, Marine Le Pen — in France. The Nordic countries will remain the stronghold of the alliance in Europe», — concluded Kovalenko.
