The nation's trade balance hit its highest level since January 2023
Norway's foreign trade surplus grew by 170.5% year-on-year in September 2026. This surge was primarily driven by a sharp 135.6% increase in natural gas exports. This was reported by Liga.Business, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The positive trade balance of the Scandinavian country reached 11 billion US dollars. The increase in these figures occurred against the backdrop of a substantial expansion of energy exports abroad. Official statistics demonstrate the highest level of financial surplus in recent years, dating back to the first month of 2023.
Energy Markets and Gas Deliveries
The significant growth in financial revenues was ensured precisely by the increased volume of energy supplies to European and global markets. In particular, a key role in shaping such macroeconomic results was played by the industry’s gas processing facilities. Such objects include the Ormen Lange industrial complex located in Aukra.
