Backup power for the home: a review of five charging stations during blackouts

High-capacity devices ensure the operation of household appliances and heating systems

Due to Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, preparing for winter power outages is critical for private home safety. Experts identify five charging station models capable of powering pumps, boilers, and household appliances. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Ольга Завада), according to the portal PromPolitInform.

In current wartime conditions, damaged energy infrastructure forces private homeowners to seek alternative power sources. Properly selected equipment is a key factor in maintaining a minimum level of comfort and ensuring essential home systems function during the heating season.

The EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 model is positioned as a home solution with a nominal power of 4000 W, capable of outputting 8000 W peak. The device features a 4096 Wh battery and a low-noise cooling system, making it suitable for long-term household use.

Parameters of powerful backup systems

The Anker Solix F3800 is oriented toward comprehensive power grid backup or electric vehicle charging. The station demonstrates 6000 W of power and the ability to expand its base capacity of 3840 Wh to nearly 27 kWh, allowing for extended autonomy of large facilities.

The classic EcoFlow Delta Pro model remains popular due to its integration with the Smart Home Panel system. With 3600 W of nominal power, it handles significant loads and allows scaling energy capacity up to 10.8 kWh using additional battery packs.

Design and connection features

The Bluetti AC300 + B300 system uses a modular architecture where the inverter and batteries are separated into different units. This simplifies equipment transportation and allows the user to determine the necessary total capacity independently by connecting up to four 3072 Wh blocks each.

The Oukitel P5000 in the top Pro version offers a high capacity of 5120 Wh in a single-unit design. The device provides up to 4000 W of output power and includes a built-in UPS function with a switching time of less than 10 milliseconds.

Safety requirements for installation

Technical specialists strictly prohibit the use of cables with plugs on both ends to feed voltage into a home network. The only permissible method of connection is installing a transfer switch, which physically breaks the connection to the central network while the station is in operation.

Furthermore, when powering gas boilers, one must consider phase and neutral polarity. Since stations often generate an isolated neutral, some heating automation may block the start-up, so connection scheme settings should be handled by a certified electrician.
