According to the results of 2025, industrial production in Ukraine decreased by 2.4% compared to 2024. This was reported by UAprom, citing data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as conveyed by the PromPolitInform portal.
In January–November 2025, the decline amounted to 2.5%. However, in December the downturn accelerated to 3.5% year-on-year.
Among the factors that influenced industrial production dynamics throughout the year, the Ministry of Economy highlighted:
- rising energy prices (up 12.4% in November alone);
- energy-related risks;
- wartime factors and logistical challenges, which particularly affected the metallurgy and mining sectors.
At the same time, according to the Ministry of Economy, government orders for defense products had a positive impact on the industrial sector. In particular, they supported machine-building and the processing industry.
In addition, according to the State Statistics Service, construction volumes in the country increased by 12% in 2025 compared to 2024, which helped partially offset industrial losses.
Analysts at the Ministry of Economy note that structural changes — such as an increase in the share of machine-building to 9% of total production — could contribute to industrial recovery in 2026.
As previously reported, industrial production in Ukraine grew by 3.6% in 2024. In 2023, according to revised data, growth amounted to 6.8% following a 36.7% decline in 2022.
