Udmurtia is reporting a possible strike on a facility producing Russian ballistic missiles.

Late in the evening of February 20, reports of loud explosions began appearing in Udmurtia, Russia, in the city of Votkinsk. This was reported by TSN, as reported by the portal PromPolitInform.

In response, temporary restrictions on takeoffs and landings were imposed at Izhevsk Airport. Russian media outlets attribute the decision to the threat of UAV use.

A possible strike on a defense plant in Votkinsk is also being discussed online.

The plant in question is the Votkinsk plant, located approximately 1,400 km from the Ukrainian border. According to an OSINT source, a hit was detected on the production facilities. According to information published on resources linked to Ukrainian military intelligence, this plant produces Topol, Yars, Iskander-M, and Oreshnik missiles.

This strategic defense enterprise is subject to sanctions by the US, UK, EU, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, and Ukraine. Despite this, according to investigative journalists, since the start of the full-scale war, the plant has expanded production and purchased additional equipment primarily from China.

The Russian side traditionally claims that air defenses are operational and “repelling an attack,” but provides no details about the consequences.

It was previously reported that there was a loud noise in the city of Neftegorsk. According to preliminary data, the local gas processing plant may have been hit.
