The project of the company Powerus, which wants to acquire Ukrainian UAV manufacturers, is focused on growing demand from the Pentagon.
The sons of US President Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are investing in a new drone manufacturing company Powerus. The latter is negotiating the acquisition of Ukrainian drone manufacturers or licensing their technologies with subsequent production under the American brand in the United States. As reported by Korespondent.net, The Wall Street Journal reports. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
The announcement of such negotiations was made by Powerus co-founder Brett Velikovich, a veteran of the US special operations forces.
The project is focused on growing demand from the Pentagon and should occupy a niche that has formed after the ban on the supply of new Chinese drones to the United States.
The Pentagon plans to increase purchases of drones – by 2027, about $ 1.1 billion may be spent on the purchase of hundreds of thousands of drones.
Over the past six months, Powerus has acquired three small companies and sells air and sea drones. The company announced plans to produce more than 10,000 drones per month.
Florida-registered Powerus plans to enter the Nasdaq stock exchange through a reverse merger with Aureus Greenway Holdings. Among the investors in the deal is the investment company American Ventures, which is associated with the Trump family.
The project also involves the manufacturer of drone components Unusual Machines, in which Donald Trump Jr. is a shareholder. Unusual Machines already has an order from the Pentagon for 3,600 engines for drones, and in the future the order volume may increase by tens of thousands of units.
Another partner in the deal is the investment bank Dominari Securities, which is supported by the Trump brothers, and the South Korean Corporate Governance Improvement Fund, which invested about $50 million.
Recall that the American channel Fox News released a new story about strike drones after the previous broadcast showed the Ukrainian STING UAV as part of the “high-tech arsenal of the United States”. In it, host Jess Waters already stated the role of Ukraine in the development of modern technologies for combating drones.
