Figure of the day: 14 new export markets for Ukrainian food have been opened since the beginning of the year

As of March 2026, 14 new export markets have been opened for domestic food products. This was stated by the Head of the State Service for the Supervision of Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine Serhiy Tkachuk in an interview with Ukrinform. The PromPolitInform portal reports.

“The war has become a paradoxical driver. Since the beginning of the year, as of March 2026, 14 new export markets have been opened for domestic food products. And since 2022, 89 new markets have been opened for food from Ukraine. We have intensified our work, and partners who support Ukraine have begun to open their markets faster. Geography has also changed: more Asia, more Africa, diversification instead of dependence on individual markets,” Tkachuk said.

According to him, the key products that Ukraine exports are poultry meat, eggs and egg products, as well as honey, grains, sugar, etc.

“In addition, this is the popularization of Ukrainian, through the “Made in Ukraine” program <…>. Support for producers in Ukraine under this program is carried out by the government at the initiative of the President, where part of the cashback is reimbursed and returned. We have such a goal, together with all the ministries involved, so that what is made in Ukraine is known in the world and confirms the highest quality,” the head of the department noted.

He emphasized that the opening of export markets for Ukrainian food products in the world is, in fact, a recognition of the domestic control system, at the center of which is the State Service for the Protection of Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine.

“Regardless of the challenges of war, our control system is working, and we confirm, ensure, and guarantee that the products we will supply to these countries in exchange for the opening of the market will meet the highest quality standards,” Tkachuk concluded.
