MFA of Ukraine believes that it could have been a Russian operation
The spokesman for the MFA of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhy, said that Kyiv has no connection to the incident in Serbia, where an explosive was discovered near the Turkish Stream gas pipeline. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to his post on the social network X, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
“We categorically reject attempts to falsely link Ukraine to the incident with an explosive discovered near the Turkish Stream pipeline in Serbia. Ukraine has no connection to this,” Tykhy wrote.
He added that this was probably a Russian false flag operation as part of Moscow’s large-scale interference in the elections in Hungary.
We would like to add that a few hours ago, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto published a post in which he stated that Hungary, Russia, Turkey and Serbia had agreed to strengthen the protection of the gas pipeline from possible attacks. According to him, Budapest will take the section of the gas pipeline from Serbia to Slovakia under military protection.
Recall that on the morning of April 5, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that an explosive device had been discovered at a gas infrastructure facility connecting Serbia and Hungary.
At the same time, the media specified that backpacks with explosives were found in the area of the Serbian villages of Velebit and Vojvoda Zimonjic, near the route of the main gas pipeline.
Experts concluded that this would be enough to destroy the compressor station and stop gas transit to Hungary for a long time.
