DTEK Grids distribution system operators connected more than 2.7 thousand new renewable and distributed generation facilities during the first half of 2026. The works were carried out in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Odesa regions.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Юлія Бойко), according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The vast majority of new connections account for solar generation. Between January and June, residential customers commissioned 2,728 solar power plants, while corporate clients connected 11 such facilities.
In parallel, the commercial sector continues to expand distributed generation. Over the six-month period, energy specialists connected 14 gas piston, gas turbine, and cogeneration units, along with five energy storage systems to the grid.
New technological solutions for energy resilience
This year, the company connected a hybrid system combining a solar power plant and a cogeneration unit for the first time. Such integration of power sources allows altering generation modes depending on weather conditions and optimizing energy supply for the consumer.
The volume of connections for renewable and distributed generation facilities in the first half of the year has already exceeded the indicator for the entire year of 2024 and outpaced the rate of 2025, according to Alina Bondarenko, CEO of DTEK Grids.
“This demonstrates growing customer interest in ensuring their own energy resilience. At the same time, every new facility is another step towards decentralized energy,” noted Alina Bondarenko.
Earlier, the energy company updated 37 network infrastructure facilities as part of preparations for the upcoming winter season.
