Russian troops have begun systematically attacking food warehouses with missiles, causing shortages in retail supermarket chains. Due to the lack of air defense capabilities for intercepting ballistic targets, protecting supply facilities has become increasingly difficult. This was reported by UkrRudProm citing The New York Times, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The Novus supermarket chain has reported a shortage of dairy products, attributing it to the consequences of Russian shelling of warehouse facilities. A similar situation is observed not only in Kyiv but also in more distant regions, including Zaporizhzhia.

Consequences of the enemy’s strategic shift

Previously, Russian forces attempted to disable Ukraine’s energy system, which led to the suspension of heating and gas supplies during the winter. On August 5, missiles hit at least four logistics centers, resulting in the deaths of six workers and significantly disrupting supply chains.

On Thursday morning, the enemy again used missiles against food warehouses near the capital. The infrastructure damage forces Ukrainians to recall crisis periods of the past, causing additional social tension, especially among the elderly.

Ukrainian defense forces currently lack sufficient interceptor missiles for Patriot systems capable of downing ballistic targets. This allows Russia to continue attacks, which daily lead to the destruction of civilian infrastructure and casualties among the civilian population.
