On the Moscow Exchange, shares of the marketplace Ozon fell by 27% due to reports of drone strikes on the company's logistics centers. The company's market capitalization decreased by 185 billion rubles in a short time. This was reported by The Moscow Times, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

The value of securities of one of the largest Russian marketplaces reached its lowest level since August 2023, falling to 2,112.5 rubles. Due to the rapid decline, the exchange was forced to temporarily suspend trading and activate the discrete auction mechanism.

Consequences of logistics strikes

Over the course of three days, damage was reported to six of Ozon’s warehouse facilities. Specifically, drones attacked hubs in Samara and Orenburg, as well as logistics centers in the village of Enem on the outskirts of Krasnodar and in Makhachkala, where a fire broke out. Warehouses in Adygeysk and Nevinnomyssk underwent evacuation procedures due to the threat of a raid.

Impact on the Russian financial market

The negative trend in the marketplace’s shares triggered a fall in the quotes of AFK Sistema, which is the company’s main shareholder. The value of the holding’s securities decreased by 12.4%, reaching 2014 levels.

The overall MOEX Index fell by 2.5%, reacting to geopolitical risks and infrastructure damage. Experts suggest that Ozon may suspend dividend payments due to the unclear scale of damage from attacks on its operations.
