A military psychologist explained the reasons behind the manipulations surrounding army recruitment
The mobilization process in Ukraine continues despite existing difficulties, yet public perception of this work is often distorted by external influence. Training centers are operating, and the military recruitment system continues to adapt to new requirements. This was reported by Ukrinform, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
Social and military psychologist Oleh Pokalchuk emphasizes that the current complications within the mobilization system are mistakenly perceived by many citizens as a complete failure. In reality, the replenishment of the Armed Forces’ personnel is not stopping, with training facilities continuing their work and contracts under the “18-24” program being signed.
The Impact of Enemy Propaganda
According to the expert, the adversary is actively utilizing the shortcomings of the mobilization system to foster anti-state sentiments, appealing primarily to human instincts. Specific negative incidents occurring during mobilization measures receive hyperbolic coverage, after which hostile media promote a narrative about the allegedly critical state of Ukrainian defense capability.
Motivation and Administrative Mechanisms
Pokalchuk believes that the effectiveness of any system is regulated by the expectation of reward or the fear of punishment, neither of which was sufficiently present during the initial stages of mobilization. Currently, in the psychologist’s opinion, the issue has shifted from the political sphere to an administrative and organizational one, where a process of gradual change is underway.
He emphasized that instead of focusing solely on communicating the topic of mobilization, effective organizational mechanisms should be implemented. Although the path to reforming the system is complex, the work of replenishing the army remains steady.
