Over 13.5 million copies of textbooks are being printed for Ukrainian schoolchildren in 2026
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced the delivery of 88 percent of new textbooks for ninth-grade students to educational institutions. The educational literature is being printed despite Russian attacks on publishing infrastructure and the destruction of print runs. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, based on data from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
This year, more than 13.5 million copies of educational literature are scheduled to be produced for Ukrainian schoolchildren. Books are being prepared for 4th and 9th-grade students, including children with special educational needs.
Ninth-graders have been designated as the priority in this provision. In the 2026/2027 academic year, these students will begin their studies under the new State Standard of Basic Secondary Education.

The changes are being implemented as part of the large-scale New Ukrainian School reform. The production and logistics process faced serious obstacles due to hostile shelling.
The strikes damaged printing facilities and led to the destruction of part of the print runs. Because of this, the delivery schedule had on-the-fly adjustments.
Deadlines for delivery to educational institutions
Despite security challenges, the key volume of literature for ninth grades arrived at its destinations before the start of the academic year. Delivery continues to fully cover the needs of educational institutions in the regions.
