State Statistics Service reports a decline in industrial production for the first 8 months of 2026

In August, the output dropped by 6.1% compared to the same period last year

The State Statistics Service has released updated data on the industrial production index for January–August 2026. Production in the industrial sector showed a negative trend both for the eight-month period as a whole and for the last month of the summer. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

According to the updated dataset from the agency, for the period from January to August 2026, the total volume of industrial products manufactured decreased by 1.0% compared to the figures for the same interval in 2025.

Production dynamics in August

A separate analysis of the sector’s performance for August 2026 indicates a more significant drop in production figures. Specifically, compared to August 2025, the decline in industrial production volume reached 6.1%.

The updated data covers short-term production statistics by type of activity. This information allows for an assessment of the country’s industrial potential in the current economic environment.
