Ukraine's real gross domestic product grew by 0.4 percent
The State Statistics Service of Ukraine has released updated data on the country's key macroeconomic indicators. In the second quarter of the current year, real domestic product grew by 0.4 percent compared to the same period last year. This was reported by Socportal, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
The agency recorded the nominal volume of gross domestic product at UAH 2305.7 billion based on the results of the second quarter. At the same time, the statistical parameters cover different time periods and do not form a single monthly slice due to varying reporting frequencies.
Gross domestic product dynamics
Preliminary calculations demonstrate an increase in real gross domestic product in April–June by 0.4 percent against the second quarter of the previous year. Taking into account seasonal adjustment, the indicator increased by 0.3 percent compared to the first quarter.
Consumer prices and wages
Inflationary processes in August resulted in a 0.1 percent increase in consumer prices compared to July and an 8.1 percent increase year-on-year. The average nominal wage of full-time employees in August amounted to UAH 31892, which exceeds the figure for August of last year by 23.1 percent, but is 1.1 percent lower than the July level.
Industrial production and trade
The total volume of industrial production for January–July decreased by 0.3 percent relative to the seven months of the previous year. Meanwhile, the physical volume of retail trade turnover for January–August increased by 8.8 percent compared to the same period last year.
