The highest level of enemy activity was recorded in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors
Throughout October 29, 191 combat engagements occurred on the front line between Ukrainian units and Russian occupation forces. The situation remained most tense in the Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk sectors, where the enemy launched 23 and 18 attacks respectively. This was reported by Ukrinform citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the portal PromPolitInform.
In addition to direct assaults, Russian invaders actively deployed aviation, launching 51 strikes and dropping 170 guided aerial bombs. To strike positions of Ukrainian defenders and populated areas, the enemy utilized 6,174 kamikaze drones and conducted over 1,700 artillery and mortar attacks.
In the North Slobozhanske and Kursk sectors, the occupiers carried out 34 strikes and launched two airstrikes using guided aerial bombs. The South Slobozhanske sector saw six enemy attacks toward several settlements, with two of these clashes still ongoing as of the evening of October 29.
Combat operations in the Lyman and Sloviansk sectors
In the Lyman sector, the Defense Forces repelled eight enemy attempts to advance near Stepove, Lyman, and Zarichne. Simultaneously, in the Sloviansk sector, Ukrainian troops halted four enemy assaults near Yampil and Mykolaivka, where fighting had not yet concluded at that time.
Significant aggressor activity was recorded near Kostiantynivka, where Defense Force units held back 23 enemy assaults. The situation also remained tense in the Pokrovsk sector, where 18 attacks were recorded, aimed at advancing toward Dobropillia and neighboring villages.
Casualties of the Russian occupation forces
According to operational estimates, 40 Russian army personnel were eliminated on these front-line sections during the day, with 10 more wounded. An ammunition depot, 23 shelters, and nine pieces of enemy automotive equipment were destroyed.
Ukrainian electronic warfare and air defense units neutralized or destroyed 231 drones of various types. Additionally, over 120 enemy shelters and an artillery gun belonging to the Russian invaders were damaged.
Situation in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors
In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces repelled 16 enemy attempts to improve their tactical positions. In the Orikhiv sector, the occupiers attempted two assaults toward Yehorivka, with combat engagements ongoing as of the evening of October 29.
In total, the Russian army’s combat casualties in manpower reached 49,040 personnel in October. This marks the highest monthly figure for Russian forces since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
