- Ukrainian woman Polina chose Valencia for its favorable climate, seafood, and large Ukrainian community.
- Despite the high cost of living, Valencia attracts residents with its open and friendly people and high quality of life.
A Ukrainian woman who has been living in Spain for several years, having moved there from Germany, has lived in several cities before finally settling in one that she considers the best.
Polina first lived in northern Spain but later moved south to Valencia — and considers this city ideal for life. She explained why she chose to relocate there. This was reported by Channel 24, citing mrs.faustova, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
Why Did She Choose Valencia?
One of the biggest advantages for her was the climate: she did not want to wear warm clothes almost all year round or live surrounded by rain and gray skies. According to her, Valencia is perfect for those who do not want to live in a small resort town but instead prefer a large city with all the benefits — the sea, beaches, and incredible architecture.
“Imagine waking up, stepping out onto your balcony, making yourself a cup of coffee. You see the mountains from your window, feel the sea breeze. It smells like the sea, not like your neighbor smoking on the balcony again,” she shared.
Another major plus for the blogger is the food. In Valencia, fresh seafood is always available, and vegetables, fruits, and berries are quite affordable. It was in this city that she began eating more fish, as it is much easier to find there.
According to her, the city offers a high quality of life and has a very large Ukrainian community.
“Ukrainians have opened just about everything here: cafés, real estate agencies, beauty salons, coffee shops, sports clubs, studios, Pilates studios. So you will always feel comfortable here,” she said.
In many new residential buildings, she noted, most of the residents are Ukrainians. People in Valencia are very open, hospitable, and friendly. The only downside is the cost of living, which is quite high in this large city.
However, the most important thing for her is that in Spain people are not in a constant rush — they enjoy life and “live, not just survive.”
