Situation Remains Challenging: Cabinet of Ministers and Naftogaz Discuss Gas Supply for Ukrainians

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and Head of Naftogaz of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi discussed ensuring uninterrupted gas supply for Ukrainians, particularly in frontline regions, amid an emergency caused by Russian shelling and severe frost. This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing a post by the Prime Minister on her Telegram channel, PromPolitInform reports.

According to Svyrydenko, 474 emergency gas distribution teams are operating nationwide in enhanced mode. More than 2,000 gas workers are involved in repair and recovery efforts.

The Prime Minister noted that special attention is currently being paid to Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The most difficult gas supply situation is observed in Kherson. In particular, Naftogaz has provided Kherson residents with 1,750 electric and gas heaters along with gas cylinders and continues to deliver additional equipment on a regular basis.

“We discussed the issue of importing additional volumes of gas. Thanks to UAH 8 billion allocated from the state budget and support from international partners, the Government together with Naftogaz ensured the import of 5.7 billion cubic meters of gas in 2025 to guarantee a stable heating season. This made it possible to replace volumes of domestic production lost due to massive missile strikes,” Yuliia Svyrydenko wrote.

In addition, the Prime Minister said that resilience points are operating inside the premises of fuel stations of the state-owned Ukrnafta filling station network, which is part of the Naftogaz Group.

Earlier, it was reported that the Cabinet of Ministers allowed flexible curfew rules during the period of the energy emergency.

It was also reported that monthly additional payments would be introduced for certain energy sector workers in Ukraine.
