Substations and 750 kV and 330 kV overhead power lines—the backbone of Ukraine’s power grid—were under attack on the night of February 7. Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote this on Telegram, according to Bigmir.net. PromPolitInform reports.
The enemy also struck the Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant and the Dobrotvir Thermal Power Plant.
“Substations and 750 kV and 330 kV overhead power lines—the backbone of Ukraine’s power grid—were under attack… Nuclear power plant units were evacuated of personnel…,” his statement read. Shmyhal added that 4.5-5 emergency shutdown schedules have been implemented across Ukraine, with special emergency shutdown schedules in the eastern and northern regions.
According to him, Ukrenergo dispatchers activated a request for emergency assistance from Poland.
