Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions on people and companies involved in the illegal export of Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories, as well as ships involved in this. This was reported by the Office of the President, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
13 sea vessels were included in the sanctions list – eight under the Russian flag, three under the Panamanian flag, and one each under the flags of Belize and Saint Kitts and Nevis.
The sanctions also apply to 11 Russian citizens – the owners of the ships and their captains, as well as 28 companies that helped export Ukrainian grain.
Ukraine will provide information about them to international partners so that they can also impose sanctions.
“The illegal export of Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories should have consequences for everyone involved: from companies and owners to captains and ships,” said Vladyslav Vlasyuk, presidential adviser on sanctions policy.
