Kyivteploenergo believes law enforcement officials have an ulterior motive.
On February 12 and 13, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches at the Kyivteploenergo headquarters. The investigative actions took place immediately after another missile and drone strike, which effectively paralyzed the company’s operations at a critical moment. As Politarena reports, the Kyiv City State Administration reported this. PromPolitInform reports.
The administration emphasizes that the SBU conducted two searches based on the same judge’s decision, calling this a gross procedural violation. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, this is the 103rd procedural action at the company since the full-scale invasion began.
Kyivteploenergo cites the seizure of documents necessary for urgent repairs as the main problem. “For the second day in a row, SBU representatives have been collecting all documents at the plant that are in any way related to preparations for the heating season or the restoration of power generation. Even drafts of contracts that have not yet been concluded, which directly affect the restoration of power generation after the destruction, are being confiscated,” the Kyiv City State Administration stated.
According to company representatives, security forces are even confiscating technical documentation on the connection of new cogeneration units and the restoration of damaged facilities. Because of this, the process of restoring heat to Kyiv residents’ homes is at risk of being disrupted.
In addition to technical delays, Kyivteploenergo believes there is an ulterior motive behind the actions of law enforcement. The company has officially stated that it regards the Security Service’s actions as “political pressure.” Law enforcement has not yet officially commented on the situation.
