Poland has provided Ukraine with over PLN 10.2 million (UAH 124 million) in energy aid, more than half of which—PLN 5.74 million (UAH 70 million)—was raised in churches of the Krakow Archdiocese and through donations to the Krakow Caritas account. According to Delo.ua, the Polish Embassy in Kyiv reported this. PromPolitInform reports.
The embassy noted that the funds raised were the result of an appeal by Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś, Metropolitan of Krakow, on January 24, 2026, calling for assistance to the residents of Kyiv. Following this, a charity collection was held in churches of the Krakow Archdiocese and through the Caritas account. In addition to financial support, according to the diplomatic mission, the Polish Ministry of the Interior and Administration and the Polish Government Agency for Strategic Reserves donated nearly 1,000 electric generators and heaters to Ukraine to meet the needs of the population during the energy crisis.
Note: Between January 26 and February 10, the country received more than 560 units of critical energy equipment from a broad coalition of states and international organizations.
Previously, Kyiv received 130 generators of varying capacity from Poland, which will help stabilize the operation of critical facilities and social institutions during the energy crisis.
