The European Parliament has allocated a €90 billion loan to Ukraine for 2026-2027. This was reported by Dengi.ua, citing a post by European Parliament President Roberta Metsola on the X network, as reported by the portal PromPolitInform.
“An agreement to provide Ukraine with a €90 billion support loan on behalf of the European Parliament has just been signed,” Roberta Metsola wrote.
According to the EU official, the funds will be used:
To strengthen the work of essential public services;
To maintain Ukraine’s strong defense capability;
To protect our common security and freedom;
To achieve genuine and lasting peace;
To secure Ukraine’s future in Europe.
Furthermore, it was previously reported that Ukraine had fulfilled the conditions for receiving a loan from the IMF.
It was also reported that the European Union is discussing a new, previously unused approach to enlargement, which could allow Ukraine to gain limited participation in the bloc as early as 2027.
