The breakthrough allowed to disrupt the plans for the offensive of the invaders and opened up opportunities for further tactical advancement of Ukrainian units.

On the Alexander direction, the 132nd separate reconnaissance battalion of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine broke through the defense line of the Russian invaders, the PromPolitInform portal informs.

“Ground combat reconnaissance groups CG132 the 132nd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the DSW of the Armed Forces of Ukraine broke through the enemy’s defense line in the Alexander direction,” the DSW said in an official statement.

During the operation, Ukrainian scouts destroyed enemy firing structures, manpower and ammunition storage sites. This made it possible to disrupt the preparation of the Russians for a further offensive and to open a bridgehead for the tactical advancement of units of the Defense Forces.

The DShV also released a video of combat work in this direction. In the description of one of the videos, it is noted that two soldiers of the 132nd battalion were able to come close to the enemy position and throw an assault charge inside.

“The final is convincing,” the Ukrainian defenders commented on the result of the operation.

Offensive actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the Alexander direction continue from January 2026. During this time, the Ukrainian military regained control over about 400 square kilometers of territory and eight settlements.

Earlier, the representative of the Ministry of Defense in the Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency Taras Chmut stated that the Defense Forces of Ukraine for the first time in a long time began to liberate more territories than to lose, without disclosing additional details.
