The “Kametstal” metallurgical plant is introducing new service solutions to optimize costs and increase production reliability. The metallurgical equipment repair shop (CRMU) has expanded the direction of autonomous restoration of replaceable equipment for the sintering shop. This is stated in the company’s press release, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
In particular, specialists have added to the list of services the repair of two new types of drive gears of the pallet feed drum of the sintering machine. These are key components, the stability of which determines the continuous operation of the unit and the rhythm of production processes.
The development of competencies is based on previous experience – last year, the company first performed the restoration of the gear rim of the pallet feed drum of the sintering machine. The repaired equipment demonstrates stable operation, which became the basis for further expansion of repair capabilities in this segment.
In parallel, the CRMU continues technical re-equipment. The machine park has been replenished with a modern cylindrical grinding machine with software control, which has already been installed at the production site. The new equipment will allow for the effective restoration of circular cross-section parts, in particular shafts and rollers.
The machine is scheduled to be put into operation in April. The first task will be the processing of drum shafts for the sintering shop. It is expected that high grinding accuracy and compliance with fitting parameters will increase the reliability of the main equipment components.
