Ukraine managed to recover 3.5 GW of the 9 GW of lost power. In some regions, there are no blackouts, in others – 1 or 1.5 queues.
This was announced during an hour of questions to the government in the Rada by the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy Denis Shmyhal, the PromPolitInform portal informs.
“The deficit at the peak of consumption is about 1 GW. Nuclear power plants, thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants and PSP are operating. The sun continues to give more, so that not at peak hours there are no systemic restrictions at all throughout the country,” added Shmyhal.
Also, the head of the Ministry of Energy noted, electricity imports continue. It is about 12% of the total consumption per day, so it is better to keep the situation during peak load hours.
“Despite some improvement in the situation, the heating season continues, as well as the enemy’s constant attempts to destroy our energy system. We are ready for these challenges now and will be even better next winter,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
“We will restore everything that can be restored. Of those more than 9 GW, which the country lost partially, it was possible to restore 3.5 GW of TPP, TPP and HPP generating capacities. The work continues. There are plans to restore approximately 4 GW of generation. In particular, by the end of May, it is possible to restore more than 2 GW,” said Shmyhal.
This will help the system at a time when nuclear power units will go into scheduled repairs.
