President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that trust in Great Britain among Ukrainians is one of the highest, compared to all other partners. Ukrinform reports, the head of state said this during a speech to members of the British Parliament, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
“Now among Ukrainians, trust in Great Britain is one of the highest compared to all our partners, and this is absolutely deserved. It comes from your support, your leadership and your cooperation with us. When Ukrainians think about Great Britain, they know that they can trust it. And I thank you for that,” the President said.
He noted that the world has entered a new era — the times of drones and artificial intelligence, which has entailed the evolution of weapons, war and crime.
“No one can predict what this evolution will lead to, but we must keep up with it, and indeed, we must get ahead of it. People want certainty, and this is always the strongest demand that any society makes of its leaders. People want to know what tomorrow will bring. People want to believe that “tomorrow” for their children, for their families, will be at least no worse than “today.” When they do not see the future, people begin to support those who reject everything, offering something completely different, something that can destroy the very foundations of society,” Zelensky said.
In his opinion, the task of leaders today is to ensure security for their citizens, which requires determination.
“We must have an answer that tomorrow will at least be safe. This is the foundation. Without security, there is no strong economy, no social services that really work, and there is no real hope — hope for a normal life, the life of our children. And this is our duty – the duty of this generation of leaders who are acting right now. We must ensure real security: security on the streets, security at home, protection of our culture and real respect for the rights and security of our people, as well as national security tested by war,” the President emphasized.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is visiting the United Kingdom today. He has already held a meeting with King Charles III and talks with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Following the talks with Starmer, a joint statement was signed.
According to the survey “Foreign Policy and Security. Moods of Ukrainian Society–2025”, in the rating of Ukrainians’ trust in world leaders last year, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer took first place (76.1%).
