Zelenskyy proposes a massive “drone agreement” between the U.S. and Ukraine that would combine America’s industrial might with Ukraine’s combat experience.
About this President Vladimir Zelensky said in an interview with the New York Post, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
The main points from the conversation:
“We could build the world’s largest drone factory. The United States would provide production and financing. Ukraine would provide technology and experience,” the president says.
“Thousands of Patriot missiles cannot stop tens of thousands of Iranian “shaheds.”” Zelensky said that now Ukraine is “number 1 in protection technologies,” and that we are ready to cooperate and share this experience with the United States in particular.
The Russian Federation is changing tactics and is betting on the mass production of drones. Already, the enemy launches 350-500 drones daily, and in 2026 wants to reach 600-800, with the ultimate goal of up to 1000 per day. According to Zelensky, to counter this number, you need to have 2-3 thousand interceptors per day. Ukraine already has its own expertise in this: the interceptor costs $3-5 thousand, while the missile to Patriot costs about $4 million.
“What is our expertise? The fact that the drone-interceptor costs $3-5 thousand. That is, one “shahed” takes about $10 thousand, and the missile to Patriot costs $4 million. Ukraine spends $10 thousand to shoot down the drone and the country of the Middle East – $4 million. This is the experience we offer,” the president explains.
Ukraine is not a country that “only asks,” but protects common interests and values together with partners.
Russia mobilizes 40-45 thousand people every month, so Ukraine is forced to inflict significant losses in order to deter aggression. Over the past three months, according to him, almost 100 thousand Russian military were destroyed.
Ukraine seeks peace more than Russia, and the Kremlin’s statements to the contrary are manipulation.
Kyiv considers the United States an ally in achieving peace and calls for further negotiations and finding solutions.
Zelensky added that it is necessary to work daily on options for a peace agreement and strengthen cooperation with allies.
