President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy made personnel changes in the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed the heads of the counterintelligence and military counterintelligence departments of the Security Service of Ukraine. The relevant decrees №269/2026, №270/2026, published on Wednesday, March 25, on the website of the president’s office, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
Who headed the counterintelligence department
The head of state appointed Sergei Gunkovsky to the post of head of the SBU counterintelligence department. This is one of the most important units of the service, which is responsible for combating espionage and protecting state interests.
“To appoint Gunkovsky Sergey Leonidovich as the head of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine,” the text of decree No. 269/2026 says.
Changes in military counterintelligence
The head of the Department of Military Counterintelligence was Viktor Zayets.
“To appoint Zayets Viktor Nikolaevich as the head of the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine,” reads Decree No. 270/2026.
We will remind, earlier it was reported that Zelensky is preparing changes in the Foreign Ministry. There will be a special representative for Belarus and not only.
