Israel launched a series of large-scale attacks on Lebanese territory, in particular on Beirut.
Lebanon’s health minister says hundreds have been killed and wounded in Israeli airstrikes on Beirut. These strikes were one of the largest in the center of Beirut in recent decades, affecting three areas of the city.
It is reported by NNA, reports CNN, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
According to Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nassereddin, as a result of today’s Israeli strikes on the country, hundreds of people were killed and injured.
According to media reports, the Israel Defense Forces hit about 100 targets in the capital, the Bekaa Valley and in the south of the country.
It is noted that the escalation was preceded by an attack on an Iranian oil refinery, after which Tehran launched retaliatory strikes.
At the same time, Iran continues to block the Strait of Hormuz. The country’s navy warned that they would attack ships that would try to pass without permission.
According to The Wall Street Journal, control of the strait remains one of Tehran’s key conditions for ending the war.
Footage of the aftermath of the strikes was filmed by local residents.
Video from the scene shows destroyed buildings in the western part of the city and thick black smoke rising into the sky. Eyewitnesses report that the sirens of the ambulances have not subsided since the beginning of shelling.

In total, according to official figures, as of Tuesday, even before these strikes, the war in Lebanon killed at least 1,530 people, another 4,812 were injured. New attacks can significantly increase these numbers.
Recall that at night Israel supported the decision of US President Donald Trump to stop attacks on Iran for two weeks. But he noted that “the two-week ceasefire does not apply to Lebanon.” Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who brokered the talks, said the cease-fire concerned “everything, including Lebanon.” Spain condemned Israel’s decision on Lebanon.
In March, Israeli troops also entered Lebanon to destroy the Hezbollah group, which began attacking Israel in response to the start of the US war with Iran on February 28.
