The aggressor state of the Russian Federation hopes that it will be able to drag neighboring Belarus into its war against Ukraine. This, writes NV, was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, April 17, following the results of the report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky. Zelensky noted, citing intelligence data, that roads to the territory of Ukraine and artillery positions are being built in the border region of Belarus.
“I have instructed the relevant channels to warn the de facto leadership of Belarus about Ukraine’s readiness to defend its land and independence,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.
And he emphasized: “The nature and consequences of recent events in Venezuela should deter the leadership of Belarus from making mistakes.”
On April 7, Yuriy Ignat, the head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported on the air of the Edini Novyny telethon that Russian aggressors are using the territories of Belarus, Romania, Moldova, and unrecognized Transnistria to fly their strike drones into Ukraine.
On April 6, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy (Flash) Beskrestnov denied information about the construction of airfields in Belarus for launching Shahed drones over Ukraine. He explained that the author of the corresponding article on the Forbes website misinterpreted President Zelensky’s words and called the drone remote control antennas “long-range bases.”
