Participants and organizers of the race launched a fundraising campaign for a mobile repair workshop for the 36th Separate Marine Brigade
On the occasion of Europe Day, a large-scale international race of remembrance and unity titled “Running with Europe” took place at the Expocenter of Ukraine (VDNH) in Kyiv. Hundreds of participants from Ukraine, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and other countries joined the event. Participants united around shared European values, the idea of peace, support for the military, and honoring the memory of the Heroes who fought and continue to fight for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
This was reported by the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, according to the Prompolitinform portal.
Participants completed 5 km and 10 km distances, took part in Nordic walking, and ran a symbolic 107-meter distance in honor of the 107 fallen Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. T-shirts bearing the names of the Heroes, as well as shell-shaped medals, were specially created for the event.
The participants also launched a charitable fundraiser for a mobile repair workshop for the 36th Separate Marine Brigade. Its cost amounts to nearly two million hryvnias, and the military cannot raise such funds on their own.
During the race, servicemen and children, Maidan participants and representatives of the families of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes, members of the Ministry of Defense, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and foreign partners ran side by side.
“This race is not only about promoting sports and a healthy lifestyle; it is about the unity of values and nations around peace, preserving memory, and calling for continued struggle. For the Maidan Museum, this is memory in action that inspires important steps for the freedom and independence of our country. We have long been co-organizers of the race ‘Honor the Warriors, Run for the Heroes of Ukraine.’ For us, this is a continuation of our mission — to preserve, comprehend, and pass on the memory of the struggle for dignity and European democratic values. We are grateful to everyone who organized the event, joined it, and together with us honored the Heroes and contributed to meaningful common causes,” summarized Ihor Poshyvailo, Director of the National Memorial Complex of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes — Museum of the Revolution of Dignity.
It should be noted that the event was organized by the “New Country” Charity Foundation and Anatolii Kutsenko with the participation of representatives of the sports community and partners. The general partners of the event were the “Ukrainian Trident” Charity Foundation and the “Shylovets” Charity Foundation. Employees of the National Memorial Complex of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes — Museum of the Revolution of Dignity also joined as co-organizers, along with project ambassadors, including Maidan Commandant Serhii Averchenko and other concerned citizens.
