Syrsky: more than 80 targets in the Russian Federation were hit in a month, the presence in the Kursk region remains.

In turn, the Russian army advances along the entire front line and regroups, the commander-in-chief noted.
In April 2026, the Defense Forces hit 84 targets deep in Russia and continue to fight in the Kursk region.
This was written  on May 8 by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, informs the portal PromPolitInform.
The priority goals of the Ukrainian military are the objects of oil refining and transportation of fuels and lubricants, the production of special chemicals, gunpowder and other enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC).

“Despite the constant pressure of the enemy, Ukrainian soldiers continue to carry out tasks on the territory of Russia – our presence in the Kursk region remains,” Sirsky said.

However, the situation at the front is tense, says the commander in chief. Russian troops have stepped up their offensive almost along the entire contact line and are regrouping their forces.

The hottest thing now is in the Pokrovsky direction, where the Russians have accumulated about 106 thousand troops. The high intensity of hostilities also persists in the Ocheretinsky, Aleksandrovsky, Kupyansky and Konstantinovsky directions, as well as in certain areas along the state border with Russia.

On the night of May 8, in Yaroslavl, after a drone attack, the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery caught fire. President Zelensky confirmed the strike.
Also on this day, for the third time in 9 days, the SBU attacked oil facilities in Perm, 1,500 km from the border with Ukraine.
