In April 2026, Ukraine’s seaports handled 8.2 million tons of cargo, which is 35.8% more than during the same period last year. This happened despite a significant increase in attacks on port infrastructure. This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA), according to the Prompolitinform portal.
In April alone, more than 500 UAV attacks on logistics infrastructure were recorded. In fact, the ports came under fire almost every other day. Despite security risks and regular shelling, port workers ensured the uninterrupted operation of the industry and fulfillment of foreign trade contracts.
Overall, in January–April 2026, Ukraine’s seaports handled 29.5 million tons of cargo, exceeding the figure for the same period in 2025.
Grain cargo traditionally formed the basis of the cargo flow — 16 million tons, which is 7% more than last year.
The USPA expressed gratitude to the Defense Forces of Ukraine for protecting port infrastructure, as well as to all relevant services, market participants, and the team for their around-the-clock work.
