Why Putin nuclear exercises with Belarus: the CPE called the three goals of the Kremlin

Russia controls the Belarusian army. The Kremlin can use joint nuclear exercises primarily to intimidate the European Union.

This was stated in the commentary of RBC-Ukraine by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation Andrei Kovalenko, informs the portal PromPolitInform.

The aggressor portrays the victim

Kovalenko drew attention to the fact that the information of the Russian Federation uses nuclear weapons as a potential weapon of attack.

“At the same time, the Russian Federation distorts the reality as if it were a forced action of protection. They are trying to turn themselves from an aggressor into a victim, and so in everything,” he added.

Russia controls the army of Belarus

Also, according to him, with the help of nuclear exercises, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin actually demonstrates that Belarus is his land, even despite all the attempts of self-proclaimed President Alexander Lukashenko to “play multi-vector” in the context of his foreign policy.

Kovalenko noted that the Russian Federation fully controls the Belarusian army through “its” people. In particular, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Khrenin is a completely Russian person who graduated from the Ussuri Suvorov Military School and the Omsk Higher Combined Arms Command School named after Frunze.

For his part, Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Wolfovich is a graduate of the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School. He is a friend of the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov and the assistant to the head of the Kremlin Nikolai Patrushev.

What is the purpose of nuclear exercises

Kovalenko drew attention to the fact that as part of nuclear exercises, the Kremlin is actually using the army of Belarus for a hybrid operation to intimidate EU countries with a nuclear strike.

The objectives of such an operation, according to the head of the CPE, are as follows:

creating fear in EU countries;
reducing the level of support for current political elites in the EU;
increasing the ratings of forces that advocate friendly relations with Russia.

“As for Ukraine, this operation is ineffective for our society,” he said.

Recall that yesterday, May 18, it became known that Belarus and Russia began joint exercises on the combat use of nuclear weapons.
