Now the campaign against logistics centers has expanded to include the second major player in Russian online trade
Ukrainian long-range drones have struck the logistics center of the Russian marketplace Ozon for the first time. At the same time, another warehouse of the largest Russian online store Wildberries was attacked – the ninth since the beginning of the campaign to destroy the Russian logistics infrastructure. This, Mind writes, reports United24 Media. The PromPolitInform portal informs.
Local residents have published a video of explosions and a fire in the city of Zelenodolsk in the Russian Tatarstan region, where the Ozon logistics complex is located. The strike was later confirmed by the commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi.
According to him, Ukrainian units also hit the Wildberries logistics center in Volgograd.
Ozon is one of the largest Russian marketplaces. The company, founded in 1998 as an online bookstore, now sells almost all categories of goods, is engaged in product delivery, banking services and travel services.
The platform operates not only in Russia, but also in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and China.
According to the results of 2024, Ozon ranked third among the largest Russian retailers in terms of sales. More than 600 thousand sellers worked through the platform, and the number of orders fulfilled during the year reached 1.4 billion.
The strike on Ozon indicates the expansion of the Ukrainian campaign against Russian logistics. If previously the main target was Wildberries warehouses, now the infrastructure of the second major player in Russian e-commerce has also come under attack.
It was previously reported that after a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones, Wildberries began looking for warehouses in Kazakhstan in order to partially move its logistics network outside of Russia.
