The Pension Fund of Ukraine has published an updated explanation of changes that recipients of social payments must report on a mandatory basis. The department emphasizes: the relevance of data directly affects the correctness of accruals, timeliness of payments and avoidance of overpayments, which can later be recovered. This is reported by “First Business“, the PromPolitInform portal reports.
First of all, citizens should inform the PFU about a change in their place of residence. This is important for internally displaced persons, because confirmation of status and access to certain types of assistance depend on the actual address.
It is no less important to report about official employment, a change in the form of employment or return to work after the appointment of a pension. Such data may affect the amount of benefits or the right to receive them, especially for old-age pensioners and persons with disabilities.
The PFU separately emphasizes the need to inform about changes in marital status – marriage or divorce. This may affect the assignment of maintenance benefits, survivor benefits and other social programs.
The list of mandatory changes also includes updating documents: replacing a passport, obtaining a new identification code, establishing or changing a disability group. It is critically important for IDPs to regularly confirm their actual place of residence in order to avoid suspension of payments.
