The state operator has joined the updated Marriage Online 2.0 service

The state postal service has joined the updated Marriage Online 2.0 service. Together with relevant ministries, the operator will provide international delivery of marriage documents for citizens located abroad. This was reported by Minfin, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

This project is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. For Ukrposhta, this is a pilot initiative, based on the results of which the company plans to determine the conditions for further scaling of the service.

The delivery geography is planned to be gradually expanded to 48 countries around the world. All details regarding specific destinations, delivery timelines, and costs will be released in stages as each new destination is launched.

The Marriage Online service has been successfully operating in Ukraine for the past two years. Statistics show significant popularity of the tool: in 2026, nearly 40% of all marriages in the country were registered in electronic form.

Specialists from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, SE Diia, and SE NAIS are working on upgrading the system to version 2.0. The project is being implemented with the advisory support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program, carried out by the East Europe Foundation.

The launch of international delivery is set to complete the formation of a convenient digital chain. Now, the entire process—from submitting an application and conducting a remote video ceremony to receiving the official document—will become accessible regardless of the newlyweds’ geographical location.
