Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh has won the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in women’s high jump. This was reported by Suspilne Sport and relayed by Hromadske.radio, according to the PromPolitInform portal.
The Ukrainian cleared the bar at 1.99 meters—a height her main rival, Australian Nicola Olyslagers, failed to clear. As this was the first-ever Ultimate Championship, Mahuchikh became the first and currently the only holder of this title.
Two other Ukrainians, Iryna Herashchenko and Yuliia Levchenko, finished fifth and sixth with results of 1.91 meters and 1.87 meters, respectively.
Thus, Mahuchikh concludes the year with a “golden double,” having also won the European Championship in August—her third consecutive victory at that event.
