The War&Sanctions portal released a list of 20 pieces of foreign machinery
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine published data on the War&Sanctions portal regarding 20 units of foreign technological equipment used to manufacture Geran drones of various modifications in the Alabuga special economic zone. The list includes machine tools, machining centers, and industrial robots from manufacturers in China, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, and Iran. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing information from Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
The published inventory includes lathe, milling, and drilling machines, alongside machining centers, industrial robots, automatic component placement systems, and soldering devices. Specifically, the production utilizes the VMC 1000Q vertical milling machining center manufactured by SMTCL from China, the RS-1R automatic component placer by JUKI from Japan, and a mechatronic line from the German brand Festo featuring a Melfa industrial robot by Mitsubishi.
Foreign Machinery in Military Production
This equipment is employed for metal processing, surface-mount device assembly on printed circuit boards, and personnel training on specialized production lines. All these processes share a single objective: the mass production of weaponry utilized in attacks against civilians.
Call to International Manufacturers
The Ukrainian intelligence agency urged global manufacturers of high-tech equipment capable of being applied in Russian weapons production to strengthen control over end-users and the actual locations where products are installed. This includes introducing on-site inspections conducted by authorized representatives at declared installation addresses.
Furthermore, enhanced control procedures should extend to spare parts, components, technical fluids, consumables, software updates, and maintenance services. The agency also stressed the need for regular audits of distributors and intermediaries, particularly those supplying high-risk jurisdictions, alongside investigating supply chains to halt further deliveries.
