Ukrainian Armed Forces liberate Serednie village in Donetsk region without losses

Special operation Vivaldi allowed liberating a territory larger than Zhytomyr

Ukrainian military personnel have completely cleared and secured control over the village of Serednie in the Donetsk region as part of special operation Vivaldi. The offensive operation was carried out without any personnel losses. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine (Сергій Козачук) citing Third Army Corps, according to the portal PromPolitInform.

Prior to the assault, the fighters carried out thorough preparation and seized control of commanding heights on the approaches to the settlement. From there, the enemy controlled the approaches, but Ukrainian forces captured a bridgehead and systematically eliminated enemy stronghold positions.

To camouflage and disorient the occupiers, assault groups set up ambushes inside the village. Russian forces arriving for rotation or reinforcement were systematically destroyed.

Equipment preparation and unexpected manoeuvre

Two BTR-13 armoured vehicles and a T-74 tank were deployed to transport infantry amid heavy rain. Due to the difficult terrain, the tracks were fitted with welded reinforcement spikes to improve traction.

The machinery approached from an unexpected direction for the enemy, as the Russians had aimed their anti-tank weapons solely at the road. Having landed the infantry, the armoured vehicles withdrew unhindered.

The commander of the 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 66th OMBR with the call sign «Bacon» noted that the absence of losses is a result of high-level planning and support. Each successfully completed task helps save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.

Frontline situation improvements

Recently, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have achieved a number of strategic successes across several frontline sectors. In particular, they managed to improve positions in the Donbas and push back the enemy near Kupiansk.

As part of the large-scale special operation Vivaldi, Ukrainian defenders liberated a territory in the Donetsk region exceeding the area of Zhytomyr. These measures eliminated masked enemy forces and created a reliable bridgehead for further active operations.
