Russia reiterates demands for Ukrainian neutrality and territorial concessions

Dmitry Medvedev repeats Kremlin ultimatum for stopping military actions

Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has once again voiced ultimatum conditions for a political settlement of the war in Ukraine during an interview with Iranian broadcast media. Russia's demands continue to include Ukraine's neutral and non-nuclear status, recognition of the annexation of Ukrainian regions, and lifting restrictions on the Russian language. This is reported by the portal PromPolitInform, citing the Telegram channel of ASTRA, based on data from Dmitry Medvedev.

In his statements, the Russian official stressed that to end the war, Ukraine must maintain a neutral and non-nuclear status. Furthermore, Moscow continues to insist on abandoning the country’s current political course.

Among key conditions, Russia again listed transferring control over Ukrainian territories that Russian authorities previously added to their constitution. This refers to Donetsk, Luhansk, and other occupied southern and eastern regions of Ukraine.

Demands regarding Ukrainian territories and language

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia noted that Russia seeks to establish its sovereignty over seized lands. Should Ukraine refuse to meet these demands diplomatically, he pledged to continue pursuing these goals through military means.

Additionally, Kremlin conditions included demands for changing legislation in the linguistic and cultural spheres. The Russian side insists on removing any restrictions on the use of the Russian language in Ukraine.

Medvedev emphasized that Russia is currently in a state of active military actions and accused Ukrainian leadership of refusing to comply with Russian ultimatums.
